THEATRE & DRAMA COMPANY TRAINING

THE AIRDRIE JUNIOR THEATRE COMPANY (AJTC) IS AIRDRIE’S EXCITING NEW YOUTH THEATRE COMPANY, CATERING TO ALL YOUTH, AGES FIVE AND UP!

AJTC aims to encourage youth to discover their inner artists, through an inclusive and dynamic classroom experience. We believe life lessons can be taught through the creation of physically and mentally healthy performers with a focus on thoughtful training and mentorship.
 
We strive to influence and make positive contributions to Airdrie’s thriving arts community. Throughout the season, Theatre Students will perform in both a Winter and Spring production to hone their artistry and showcase their talents.

ELIGIBLITY

We require our Theatre Company Actors to be enrolled in at least one Airdrie Junior Theatre Class for the best experience possible, as well as an invitation to join the team. Our Theatre Company program is designed for Actors who love to perform, and are ready to take their Acting Training to the next level. The Company experience goes beyond skill development, requiring actors to learn to be self-motivated, disciplined, and resilient.

Mini Mimes

Ages 5 – 7
Students will use the creative process to learn the joy and importance of storytelling! They will recognize more of the world around them in performance and use that to make connections. The discovery phase in drama is ongoing and always exciting!

Future Features

Ages 11 - 13
Future Features is a class for the artist with a blossoming passion! We will look deep into the text of plays to unlock full dramatic potential. Interpersonal skills will be strengthened and students will begin to understand more of who they are in order to bring that into performance!

Headliners

14 and UP
In our Headliners class, we will focus full depth on self-discovery, building confidence, and expression – while learning trust and commitment. Students will delve into understanding how who we are affects us and those around us, incorporating these new discoveries into performance and everyday life!
