What is Ambition Performing Arts?

Ambition Performing Arts Inc. is Airdrie’s premier, award-winning performing arts school for children and youth. We offer programs in dance, music, and drama that nurture confidence, creativity, and leadership. APA is known for its caring teachers, family-first culture, and commitment to helping young people grow as both artists and individuals.

Where is Ambition Performing Arts located?

Ambition Performing Arts is located at 205 2002 Luxstone Blvd SW, Airdrie, Alberta, T4B 3K8. The facility features professional dance studios and a fully equipped music room, offering a safe, creative, and welcoming environment for Airdrie families.

How long has APA been in Airdrie?

Ambition Performing Arts has been part of the Airdrie community for over 22 years, serving more than 8,000 families. APA is recognized across Alberta for excellence in arts education, youth mentorship, and community leadership.

What ages do you accept?

APA welcomes students from age 1 through 18. Programs are tailored to each developmental stage, allowing children and teens to explore dance, music, and drama in a supportive and age-appropriate environment.

What styles or disciplines are offered?

APA offers Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Acro dance classes, as well as Voice, Acting, Musical Theatre, and Performance programs. All classes are taught by certified instructors focused on skill development and confidence building.

What are your teacher qualifications?

APA instructors are certified professionals with credentials from RAD, ADAPT, Acrobatic Arts, and more. All teachers complete background checks, First Aid and CPR training, and YPAD certification to ensure safe and ethical teaching practices.

When do classes start?

Classes begin the second week of August and run through the end of June. Enrollment is open year-round, and new students may join when space allows.

What are your class sizes and student-teacher ratios?

Classes at APA are intentionally small, averaging 12 to 15 students. Many younger classes include trained assistants or Leaders in Training to ensure personalized attention and safety.

What is the Leaders in Training Program?

APA’s Leaders in Training (LIT) Program is a mentorship initiative for students ages 10 and up that combines leadership education, classroom assistance, and personal development. Participants gain confidence, communication skills, and community experience.

Drama and Acting Classes

The Airdrie Junior Theatre Company (AJTC) is Airdrie’s exciting new Youth Theatre Company, catering to all youth, ages 5 and up!

Airdrie Junior Theatre Company aims to encourage youth to discover their inner artists through an inclusive and dynamic classroom experience. In our Drama classes, students get to try improvisation, playwriting, character development, Musical Theatre, and stage technique, all while building themselves and each other up! This means that students get to act, sing, find their imaginations, and move in this creative class! Drama gives students a place to find their unique voices and to build on their public speaking, while creating an environment of acceptance and fun. Through Theatre, students get to find different ways to express themselves all while getting to expand their imaginations through new ideas! This all leads into a year end performance of a full Musical Theatre production!

We strive to influence and make positive contributions to Airdrie’s thriving arts community. Throughout the season, Theatre Students will perform in both a Winter and Spring production to hone their artistry and showcase their talents.

Not only are classes affordable but we got to try the class first to make sure she liked it before we committed. Updating my review to add that APA has really been great for my son. His confidence has increased and he really has developed a passion for piano and music. Miss Paige continues to be amazing and my son had developed a great bond with her.
