Our Safety Measures
At Ambition Performing Arts, the safety, health, and happiness of our students have always been—and will always be—our top priority. We understand the importance of providing a nurturing and secure environment where every child can grow with confidence. Our core values drive every decision we make, ensuring that students not only develop as performers but also as strong, empowered individuals in a space where they are respected, supported, and safe.
To create and uphold a Happy, Healthy, Safe space, we have implemented numerous safeguards within our facility and training protocols:
Facility Safety:
- Motion-activated cameras in all areas of our facility, recording 24/7 with encrypted storage.
- Consultation with industry experts to implement procedures for lockdowns and shelter-in-place situations.
- Installation of advanced security equipment for our facility.
- Frequent training for our staff on safety procedures and emergency response skills.
Staff Training & Certification:
- All instructors maintain current First Aid & CPR certifications.
- AED machine located in the 205 lobby for emergency response.
- YPAD (Youth Protection Advocates in Dance) certified staff, ensuring safe and age-appropriate teaching methods.
- “Not in My City” training to recognize and prevent exploitation and abuse.
- Annual background checks for all staff, ensuring a secure environment for our students.
- Violence in the Workplace and WHMIS training for staff safety and preparedness.
Ongoing Monitoring & Support:
- Dedicated Health & Safety Officer, conducting monthly facility checks to address any concerns promptly.
- Open-door policy for families to voice any concerns about student well-being.
- Encouragement of open communication between students, parents, and instructors to foster trust and accountability.
We recognize that discussions surrounding youth safety can be difficult, but they are necessary. We welcome open dialogue and are here to listen, support, and ensure that APA remains a place where every child feels safe, valued, and empowered.
