A Note From the Team at Ambition Performing Arts❣️
Dear Ambition Performing Arts Graduates,
It is hard to put into words what it feels like to watch you reach this moment.
For some of you, we have had the privilege of watching you grow up at APA. You arrived as little kids carrying dance bags, scripts, music books and big dreams. Over the years, we have watched you become performers, teammates, leaders, mentors and, most importantly, remarkable young people.
And now, somehow, you are graduating.
At Ambition Performing Arts, we have always believed that what happens here is about so much more than what happens on stage.
Most of you will not become professional performers, and that was never the point.
We teach the arts to raise tomorrow's leaders.
Every class, rehearsal, performance, exam, competition, audition, correction, mistake and celebration has been preparing you for something bigger.
You learned how to walk into a room prepared.
You learned how to work when you didn’t feel like working.
You learned that sometimes progress happens quickly, and sometimes you work for months for something that seems to come easily to someone else.
You learned how to take a correction without allowing it to define you.
You learned how to be part of a team, how to show up for other people and how much better something can become when everyone contributes.
You learned that confidence isn’t about believing you will always get it right. It is knowing you can handle it when you don’t.
And hopefully, somewhere along the way, you learned that the biggest wins aren’t always the ones that come with trophies, applause or recognition.
Sometimes winning is doing something that once scared you.
Sometimes it is being the person someone else can count on.
Sometimes it is trying again.
Sometimes it is discovering who you are.
And sometimes it is simply having the courage to step onto the next stage.
That is what I hope you take with you from APA.
Not just the dances you performed, the shows you were part of or the skills you learned, but the person you became while learning them.
As you leave high school and begin whatever comes next, I hope you remain ambitious. Not ambitious because you need to prove something to the world, but ambitious about building a life that feels meaningful to you.
Work hard. Be kind. Stay curious. Take the opportunities that scare you a little. Surround yourself with good people. Give back when you can. Be the person who shows up. And when things don’t go according to plan, remember that better is always possible.
Most importantly, don’t be afraid to change the plan.
Your life does not need to follow a perfectly choreographed path. Some of the very best things happen when the music changes and you have to figure out what comes next.
And wherever that path takes you, know this:
You will always have a home at APA.
Come back and visit. Tell us what you’re doing. Celebrate your wins with us. Ask for help when you need it. Let us continue cheering ridiculously loudly for you, because graduating from APA doesn’t mean you stop being part of this family.
It simply means we get to watch from a little farther away.
Thank you for trusting us with a piece of your childhood. Thank you for the hours, the hard work, the laughter, the performances and the memories. Thank you for leaving your own mark on APA.
We are incredibly proud of you.
The stage may change from here, but everything you learned while standing on ours goes with you.
Go do something wonderful with it.
With so much love and pride,
